Rihanna 'hoping for engagement'

Rihanna reportedly wants her boyfriend to propose at Katy Perry's wedding.

Katy is due to wed her fiance; Russell Brand this year, with rumours circulating the pair will tie the knot this month. Rihanna will attend the ceremony as she is close friends with Katy, and even organised her bachelorette party last month. Rihanna has been dating professional baseball player Matt Kemp, 26, for eight months, and things are getting serious between them. It has been claimed the singer is keen for Matt to pop the question, and new reports suggest she thinks Katy's wedding would provide the perfect romantic setting for a proposal.

"I think Rihanna's got the bug. Katy is so excited about getting married. Her attitude is, 'Why wait?' which is rubbing off on Rihanna. I wouldn't be surprised if she's starting to think of Matt as perfect husband material," a source told more! magazine. "She's taking Matt as a guest to the wedding and I think she's hoping he might propose then."

Rihanna and Katy have spent lots of time discussing Katy's impending nuptials, which is said to have convinced Rihanna the time is right for her to settle down too.

The Barbados-born singer is known to have a lot of respect for the institution of marriage, and has been planning her big day since she was a child.

"Rihanna's always wanted to get married. Her scrapbook is full of cuttings of her favourite dresses and she started it when she was only nine years old," another source previously said.
