Glum Rihanna steps out in frumpy flats and a granny-style cardigan

The weather outside may have been cool by California standards, but pop songstress Rihanna still stepped out in short shorts which she teamed with a granny style cardigan.

And the addition of flat lace-ups made her an uncharacteristically frumpy look for the typically raunchy singer.he 22-year-old was seen leaving a Beverly Hills hotel yesterday, with her bodyguard following close by.

Despite spending some time with boyfriend Matt Kemp earlier, she seemed rather downcast as she headed out.

Wearing sunglasses, a fedora, a big tan sweater, and cut-off denim shorts, the Bajan beauty mixed summer and autumn fashions as the temperature outside hovered in the high 60's - chilly by Southern California standards.

Maybe her mood was due to news which broke Friday on Radaronline that disturbing new assault photos had surfaced.

The U.S website reports it was offered four shocking pictures of the badly battered singer after the 2009 attack by R&B musician Chris Brown, but it turned them down after judging them too disturbing for publication.
