Katherine Webb defends Brent Musburger, says she was flattered by his comments

NBC
Katherine Webb’s fifteen minutes of fame landed her on the Today show in a one-on-one interview with Matt Lauer. She used her time to defend ESPN’s Brent Musburger and his perceived creepy comments.
Katherine Webb: “I think the media’s been unfair to him. If he would have said something along the lines of we were hot or sexy or made any derogatory statements like that, I think it would have been a little bit different. The fact he said we were both beautiful and gorgeous, I don’t see why any woman wouldn’t be flattered by that. So, I think that they’ve been unfair to him.”
Matt Lauer: “So no reason for ESPN to apologize in your opinion?”
Katherine Webb: “You know I don’t think it was needed honestly. I mean, of course I appreciate it but at the same I don’t think I needed an apology.”
And yet again, we’re left wondering why Brent’s taking all the criticism while his employer skates by as the real culprit. Because, make no mistake about it, Brent had nothing to do with cameramen panning to her every two minutes. That decision was made in the production meeting by people up the chain. People who were well aware of Katherine Webb’s looks ahead of time.
