   Novak suffered a 2-6, 5-7 loss against Andy Murray in the semi-final of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships today.
 
   The defending champion couldn’t find his rhythm and had no solution for Murray’s solid performance.
 
   Andy converted 4 of his 5 break point chances and won 85 per cent of points on his first serve to win in 2 hours and 22 minutes.

Djokovic downs Murray 3:2 AUS OPEN 2012

    World No. 1 and defending champion Djokovic reached the Australian Open final for the third time on Friday night after edging two-time runner-up Murray in a pulsating semi-final clash in Melbourne.

   Djokovic came back from two sets to one down to win the thriller 6-3, 3-6, 6-7(4), 6-1, 7-5.



   Grande Novak wins 400th career match, faces Nadal in Melbourne final!
   The defending champion will now play 2009 Australian Open winner Rafael Nadal in Sunday’s eagerly-anticipated final.

Djokovic vs Murray Rome semis the best ATP World Tour match of 2011!!!

   Nole vs Andy Murray Rome semi-final encounter (6-1, 3-6, 7-6) has been labelled the best ATP World Tour match of the 2011 season!
   In the classic match at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia, Andy came close to ending Nole’s then-37-match winning streak, but was ultimately denied by the 24-year-old Belgrade native, who had forgotten how to lose.
 
   After the semis, doubles world no.1 player Bob Bryan tweeted: "Just watched some of the greatest displays of shot-making & guts I have ever seen. Thank u @andy_murray & @DjokerNole. You are both champs."

   Novak’s victory over Nadal in the Sony Ericsson Open final (4-6, 6-3, 7-6) is ranked the second best ATP World Tour match of the season.
 
   Nole came from a set down and prevailed in a decisive tie-break. Both players received a standing ovation from the sell-out 14,625 Miami crowd.

Berdych retires, Nole to face Murray in Cincinnati final

Novak is into his third Cincinnati finals!
 
    Nole took the first set 7-5 when no.8 seed Czech Tomas Berdych retired after 52 minutes of play with fears of aggravating an injury.
   The top-seeded Serbian star started with an excellent opening service game. Berdych responded in convincing fashion. The Czech faced a break point in the fourth game but held with a couple of big-hitting serves. Nole was broken in the seventh game. Berdych was serving for the set in the tenth game when the world no.1 fought back to level the result. Nole raced through his service game to love, and then put the pressure on Berdych who produced four unforced errors to lose the set. The Czech then decided to pull out.
 
“ It’s great I’m in another final. It's a great achievement. Tomorrow I'll try to get another title, ” said Novak. “ I hope it’s not going to be too hot and let’s hope for another good match. We have a good rivalry, same age, same generation and it’s nice to play him in a final again. ”
 
Match statistics: aces (4-4), double faults (3-2), winners (9-14), unforced errors (8-22).
The 24-year-old Belgrade native has dropped only one set so far, to no.6 seed Gael Monfils in the quarter-finals.
 
   Nole added one more victory to his stellar record in 2011 and he now has a sizzling 57-1 match record on the season.
 
In the first semi-final earlier today Andy Murray beat American Mardy Fish 6-3, 7-6.
 
Nole will face the fourth-seeded Brit on Sunday at 12.30 local time (18.30 CET) in a repeat of the 2008 Cincinnati Masters final.

Novak downs Murray in thriller, faces Rafa in Rome finals!

The Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic is still unbeaten in 2011!
 
    No.4 seed Andy Murray got really close to ending Nole’s run, but the Serb prevailed in a thriller 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (2) on Saturday evening to progress into the finals of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome, his seventh ATP final of the season.
   The world no.2 started strong breaking Murray in the second game of the opening set. The Scot broke back immediately, but Nole converted two more breaks of serve in the fourth and sixth games, and served it out to 15 for 6-1.
Novak hit 11 winners to Murray’s 4, and made 8 unforced errors to the Brit’s 14.
 
   The statistics pretty much changed in the second set in Murray’s favour. He was making less errors, while the level of Novak’s game dropped. Murray won the opening game to love closing it with an ace. A break in the sixth game was enough for the no.4 seed to take the set 6-3 and level the match up at one set all.
 
   Djokovic broke his opponent’s serve in the fourth game of the decisive final set, but couldn’t keep the advantage. Murray fought back in the fifth converting his break point with a fantastic return and held to equalise the result to 3-3. The Brit made another break in the seventh game, but this time Nole broke back to level at 4-all. The 23-year-old Belgrade native was broken again in the ninth game, but he came back into the match when Murray double-faulted on a break point. The set went into a tie-breaker, Novak made two mini-breaks and won it 7-2.

Brilliant Novak captures second Australian Open title!

   Novak raced to 5-0 in the second set with a double break. He earned a break/set point in the sixth game, but Murray held and broke Djokovic’s serve for the first time for 5-2. The Serb managed to break once again to win the set 6-2 in 40 minutes.
   There were several exchanges of breaks in the third set, but the crucial was Novak’s in the eighth game for 5-3 lead. The 23-year-old Belgrade native served it out, using his first match point for 6-3 and huge victory.
   Match statistics: aces (6-6), double faults (0-4), winners (26-21), unforced errors (33-47), break point conversion (7/18 - 3/4), total points won (106-78).
 
   This was the eighth encounter between Djokovic and Murray, first in Grand Slam tournaments. Nole now leads 5-3.
   Nole improved to a 2-2 record in Grand Slam finals. The best Serbian tennis player lost only one set during the event.
 
" Winning a Davis Cup title and another Grand Slam title. I'm living the dream of a tennis player, definitely," said Nole after the victory. "I have been more focused and dedicated to the sport than I have ever been before. To be able to win in straight sets against a player like Andy Murray in the finals of Grand Slam, it makes my success even bigger. "
 
" This was a great match. From the start to the last point, I did what I intended of doing tactically, what I talked with my coach, what I prepared for. It's the best way that I could ask for to start a season. Both of those guys (Federer and Murray) play their best tennis on the hard courts, as well as I do. But to be able to win against those players in straight sets is incredible. "
 
" During this tournament I was feeling great on the court," added the Serb. "The Davis Cup win may have a big role in my great performance here in this tournament. After we won Davis Cup title I was feeling great on the court, just eager to compete. "
 
   Speaking about Murray, whom he has known since they were teenagers, Nole said: " I really have big respect for him and his game, because I think he has everything what it takes to become a Grand Slam champion. I'm sure that very soon he will be. "
 
   Djokovic won six matches en route to the finals. He beat Spaniard Marcel Granollers, Croat Ivan Dodig, his friend and compatriot Viktor Troicki, Spaniard Nicolas Almagro, Czech Tomas Berdych and four-time defending champion Roger Federer.
 
With the victory, Nole will be no.3 on Monday, January 31, with only 85 points behind Roger Federer.
