Novak is still ranked third in the latest ATP Ranking list as of November 9, but he’s much closer to world no.2 Rafael Nadal after winning Davidoff Swiss Indoors Basel tournament on Sunday.
Djokovic now has 8.300 points, which is only 545 less than Nadal.
They are both playing at the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tournament in Paris this week. Novak will defend third round, while the Spaniard lost in the quarterfinals last year.
