Rihanna Urges Fans To Leave Abusive Relationships

Rihanna has urged young fans in abusive relationships to have the strength to walk away.The Umbrella singer – who was the victim of a vicious assault at the hands of ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in 2009 – said it is never easy to leave an abusive relationship.

And asked if she had any advice for people going through the same experience, she said: "I hope to help them have the strength to [get out of a bad relationship] because it definitely takes a lot of inner strength."You're never prepared for the day that you have to get out of that relationship… But you know it's the right thing to do.”Talking about her own experience with Brown, she said: "It was a very rough time."It was a big turning point in my life to move forward and all I had to do was be independent enough to take that step forward."
